The foreign ministers of Russia and Cyprus, Sergey Lavrov and Nikos Christodoulakis, exchanged messages offering congratulations on the occasion of 60th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations, and they plan to hold the next meeting on the island.
According to the Russian Foreign Ministry, the ministers “noted the high level of mutual understanding on the regional and global agenda issues and the Russian side reiterated its support for the efforts of the Republic of Cyprus to resolve the Cyprus problem on the basis of the existing UN resolutions.” The Ministry emphasised that the countries maintain a common intention to continue cooperation and “coordination of actions.”
